HTP STATEMENT ON OBAMA CLOSURE OF GWATANAMO BAY.
“Let us do what is right for America, Let us close this Chapter.”

The decision by the Obama Administration to close the Gwatanamo bay Prison near Cuba has been long overdue. Heal The Planet Global Organisation-HTP is satisfied that the United States Government is yet to make a genuine action when the military facility prison is finally closed.
We understand that President Obama whereas had desired to have the prison closed in his first term of office, the political storms around him couldn’t permit and while he desires to be on the right side of history like he has done recently to renew US-Cuba relations after 50 years-Obama still faces opposition by the Republicans in the Congress.

The continuous presence of Gwatanamo Bay remains a threat to International Law & Justice with vast indescribable atrocities committed by the authorities managing the facility which the White House knows very well. Aggravated torture and agony inflicted to the detainees in the facility and all sorts of unspeakable horrific acts committed against them are in bleach and violation of human rights and International statutes which US is a signatory.

America whereas has been successful in trying several detainees on charges of terrorism and other related crimes at this facility, reports indicate that the process and trials lack credibility as many of those charged are forced to confess after being subjected to torture and the the fact that have no access to lawyers to plead on their behalf is unfair.

Heal The Planet requests United States to implement the decision to close the facility and also those who are dissatisfied with earlier trials should be allowed to appeal on the US soil.
We’re hopeful that Gwatanamo Bay will finally close and the time was yesterday.
